Veneers
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. In the right patient, they are a conservative and an ideal choice for improving the smile.
Veneers require a high degree of attention to detail; and an understanding of proper anatomy; proportions, symmetry, esthetics, and bite relationship. We will be happy to share with you some pre and post-treatment photos of cases that we have completed.
Will they look like normal teeth?
When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
How durable are porcelain veneers?
With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for years. Bonded porcelain veneers have much higher strength than any filling material.. However, because they are made of thin ceramic, like your fine china, there is always the possibility of fracture - patients contemplating this procedure should always be aware of this.
Am I a good candidate for veneers?
Veneers are a wonderful service for the right patient; however, some patients are better suited with other treatment alternatives to enhance their smile including tooth whitening and orthodontics. At our office, we examine all treatment options collaboratively with each patient to determine what is best for them.
